The Kardashians star Scott Disick’s son Mason Disick’s living with him full-time, but according to Scott’s recent chat with People, he spent “fifteen years” doing drugs and drinking, and it’s hard to say if he’s mature enough to handle his new responsibilities. Scott may be very different now, but his problems were serious. When he looks back, Lord Disick acknowledges that “ᵴtriƥpers” were part of the equation. The die-hard party boy Scott is a father of three, but his antics actually continued after he became a dad.
He says he’s different now – is Scott, who has tried to lie his way out of things in the past, telling the truth? Only he knows for sure. Based on his Instagram posts, he’s still a little shady.
While he co-parents Mason, Penelope and Reign Disick, Scott, with his penchant for exotic dancers, tries to play the lonely man, posing forlornly on a watercraft. He adds the unconvincing caption: “boats and no hoes.” In Scott’s case, the leopard would really be changing its spots. Kourtney’s bad boy ex would have undergone a truly startling metamorphosis. The devil who stuffed dollar bills into a waiter’s mouth, in a gross-out display of entitlement, would become a shining white angel. Do people change that much? Rarely.
Scott Played Kourtney Like A Fiddle
He Was A Con Artist
“It was really, really, really difficult at first because I did not know how to be a dad, and how to take care of kids, and how to be there for them.” –
Scott’s cheating was a problem and Kourtney did put up with a lot. However, he had issues too. She had to deal with hearing another woman’s voice in the background while Scott was in New York City unsupervised. Meanwhile, Scott said onscreen that Kourtney “tricked” him into being a father. This stuff is harsh. The former couple’s often perceived as star-crossed lovers who couldn’t quite get it together. But that’s just not true. They had problems as serious as couples can have.
With all of this in mind, it’s best that Scott and Kourtney aren’t together. Onscreen, In Flip It Like Disick, Scott showed some glimmer of self-awareness while saying::
“It was really, really, really difficult at first because I did not know how to be a dad, and how to take care of kids, and how to be there for them.”
Scott wasn’t really enjoying parenthood back then. That’s the harsh reality. It took him a long time before he could really surrender to the fact that he had these adult responsibilities. The fact that he would say aloud that he thought Kourtney tricked him into being a parent is a bad sign, as his kids are going to see that reality TV scene someday. They won’t like what they hear. There are countless examples of Scott being thoughtless, immature and reckless. Nonetheless, his emotions are valid.
Now, Scott’s got Mason full-time – he says parenting is different now, and that could be true. He does seem to have matured to an extent. However, there’s only so mature Scott is going to get. In his snowglobe of wealth and privilege, he’s frozen in time. Aspects of his life may change, but probably not enough to cause a seismic shift.
So, as a parent, Scott’s likely to bring a bit of the prankster of old into the mix. Whether he’s the right custodial parent for Mason right now is still unclear. What is clear is that The Kardashians‘ Scott loves his son, and he’s trying.
