Recently, Tesla CEO Elon Musk took to social network X to declare that the Tesla Roadster electric car model will be able to fly.

If this statement is accurate, the Roadster will definitely create a fever in the electric vehicle market. Elon Musk did not share any further details to substantiate his claim but this has attracted the attention of industry watchers.

Elon Musk announced that the Tesla Roadster electric car will be able to fly

It must be said that Elon Musk has a notorious record of making controversial statements. However, it is likely that the upcoming Tesla Roadster will be very fast. Musk has previously stated that the Roadmaster will be able to fly. Many people are currently looking forward to this electric car model being on sale after appearing 7 years ago at Tesla’s Semi and Roadster event.

The Roadster is a high-end model of this brand but is not yet on the market. It is considered the successor to the 2008 Roadster based on the Elise platform. The Roadster marks Tesla’s entry into the electric vehicle market.

Tesla Roadster could launch this year

This electric car model is initially capable of accelerating from 0 to 62 mph (100 km/h) in 1.9 seconds. This acceleration was impressive at the time but has now been surpassed by many other competitors. Accordingly, supercars in the same segment as the Roadster can achieve such performance in 1.7 seconds.

In 2021, Elon Musk claimed that the Tesla Roadster can reach 0-62 mph in 1.1 seconds. It will be powered by a SpaceX options package that includes up to 10 small rocket boosters arranged around the vehicle. This feature was announced in 2018 and this was the first time Musk claimed the Roadster could fly.

If all goes according to plan, the Roadster is expected to launch this year and go into production in 2025.
