Out of all the possible story directions that the MCU can go with in Spider-Man 4, Miles Morales’ introduction has to be one of them.
It was recently reported that Tom Holland was working on a deal to return for the fourth MCU Spider-Man movie. Holland has arguably become the most well-known live-action iteration of Peter Parker, and Spider-Man 4 would have him become the actor who has portrayed the hero the longest. With how Spider-Man: No Way Home ended, it seemed inevitable that Holland would return for another film.
Despite Holland’s popularity as Spider-Man, some fans are arguing that it is time for him to pass the torch. Spider-Man 4 is set to begin filming in early 2025, meaning the earliest it will likely release will be 2026. Holland will be 30 by then, which is closing in on the age other actors wrapped up their turns as the character (Andrew Garfield was 31 in The Amazing Spider-Man 2 and Tobey Maguire was 32 in Spider-Man 3). There are plenty of options for who can take over the MCU’s Spider-Man mantle after Holland’s time is done, and one statement from the actor himself has made a replacement’s introduction in Spider-Man 4 all the more likely.
