Elon Musk’s ‘No One Is Above The Law’ Dig At Biden Amid Hunter Pardon Row

Elon Musk and several other Republicans mocked President Joe Biden for his U-turn move – granting son Hunter a pardon. The Democrat on Sunday granted the first son a clean chit in his tax and gun-related convictions. Soon after Biden issued a statement, social media users rushed to his post, which read: ‘no one is above the law’. Fact-checkers added a community note on the tweet.

Biden’s tweet from May was an attack on President-elect Donald Trump. It went viral after the president decided to issue an ‘unconditional’ pardon to Hunter. Earlier this year, the 81-year-old had repeatedly stated that clemency is not an option in the first son’s cases.

The community note read: “President Joe Biden pardoned his son, Hunter Biden, for crimes covering nearly 11 years of ‘offenses against the United States which he has committed or may have committed or taken part in during the period from January 1, 2014 through December 1, 2024.’”

However, X owner soon shared a community note of his own. “By p[ardoning his son Hunter, not merely for a single crime, but for actual or potential crimes he may or may not have created over an eleven-year period, Joe Biden has made clear that some people are, in fact, above the law,” he tweeted.

Republican Reps. Tom Emmer and Eli Crane, both shared Biden’s post and commented, “Unless your last name is Biden.” Sen Ted Cruz of Texas, tweeted: “This aged like fine milk.”

“You’ve been lied to every step of the way by this Administration and the corrupt Biden family. This is just the latest in their long coverup scheme. They never play by the same rules they force on everyone else. Disgraceful,” Rep. Steve Scalise wrote.
