As Kourtney, Kim, Khloe, Kylie and Rob’s kids grow up, many people notice that boys are afforded a much different level of privacy than girls.
In 2007, the reality TV show Keeping Up With the Kardashians (KUWTK) debuted. Over the course of 20 seasons, viewers watched siblings Kourtney, Kim, Khloe, Kendall, Kylie, and for a time Rob, grow up under the watchful eye of their mother Kris Jenner.
However, while Kourt, Kim, Khloe, and Rob were 28, 27, 23, and 20 years old when the show first aired, Kendall and Kylie were just 10 and 9 years old, meaning the duo had very few options when it came to fame, according to Buzzfeed.
When KUWTK turned 10, Kylie spoke out against the way she was being put in the spotlight, admitting that she felt uncomfortable with the public scrutiny.
On a 2016 episode of KUWTK, Kylie told Kim and Khloe that she believed she “shouldn’t have been famous.”
“I was worried for a long time. I felt overwhelmed by having to care so much. Some people are 𝐛𝐨𝐫𝐧 to be in the spotlight and some are not. I just knew I shouldn’t be famous.”
Kylie reiterated this a year later in her own series Life of Kylie.
“I don’t want to be photographed. I don’t want people talking about what I wear. Whenever I see paparazzi, I try to cover my face. The only reason I’m still famous is Kylie Cosmetics, but it’s too much pressure,” she admitted.
In another episode of KUWTK, Kylie goes out in disguise to spend a day away from the crowds and paparazzi. She wants to see what “normal” feels like because she has absolutely no memory of her life before fame.
Today, Kylie’s fame only grows, with the billionaire now owning several companies of her own.
Keep your son private
Rob, the only male of the KarJenner siblings, withdrew from the spotlight almost completely in 2013. From a key character on KUWTK, he rarely appeared since season 7.
After going public with his relationship and splitting from ex-fiancée Blac Chyna in 2017, Rob has largely disappeared from the public eye, only returning for a one-shot scene in the final episodes of KUWTK.
Rob didn’t even show up at last year’s KUWTK reunion, which saw all of the KarJenner sisters share some of the show’s biggest moments.
Later, explaining her brother’s absence, Kim said that Rob was “in a mood.”
It’s a stark contrast to the way Rob lives his life, which is more private than his sisters, especially Kylie, who was thrust into the spotlight at the age of nine and encouraged to take advantage of it, despite her own discomfort.
Some have spotted potential similarities in the way the KarJenner 𝘤𝘩𝘪𝘭𝘥ren are being raised.
Rob shares daughter Dream (5) with Blac Chyna. Although the young father doesn’t update himself often, his social media accounts are almost entirely filled with photos of Dream.
Meanwhile, Kylie has two 𝘤𝘩𝘪𝘭𝘥ren with Travis Scott. Her first daughter, Stormi (4 years old), is often shown off on the billionaire’s social media accounts.
In fact, Kylie revealed her name and first picture just days after Stormi was 𝐛𝐨𝐫𝐧 in February 2018. A month later, she began sharing clear photos of her daughter on Instagram.
Stormi now regularly accompanies Kylie to showbiz events, photo shoots and red carpets. Not to mention, she also works as a 𝘤𝘩𝘪𝘭𝘥 model to advertise her mother’s 𝘤𝘩𝘪𝘭𝘥ren’s fashion brand.
Kylie gave 𝐛𝐢𝐫𝐭𝐡 to a 𝑏𝑎𝑏𝑦 boy in February. But in the more than six months since, Kylie and Travis have only shared photos of his hands or feet. They have yet to even reveal his name.
This move is very different from the way Stormi quickly gained publicity and made money.
Similarly, Khloe recently became a mother of two: daughter True, 4, and a 2-month-old 𝑏𝑎𝑏𝑦 boy whose name has yet to be revealed. While Khloe shared a photo of True a few weeks after her 𝐛𝐢𝐫𝐭𝐡, she has refused to share any details about her new𝐛𝐨𝐫𝐧 son.
