Tiger Woods Makes an Unsurprising Partnership Move With $67 Million Golf Giant Amid Declining Form

In a move that’s set to send shockwaves through the golfing world, Tiger Woods has just inked a major contract extension with Bridgestone Golf, the $67 million giant of the golfing industry. This latest development is a resounding endorsement of Woods’s enduring influence and appeal despite his well-documented struggles on the course in recent years. As one of the most dominant forces in golfing history, Woods’s partnership with Bridgestone Golf is a match made in heaven.

The news was broken on Twitter, with the announcement,  “JUST IN: Tiger Woods & Bridgestone Golf agree to terms on a contract extension that will see the 82-time PGA TOUR winner continue to use the TOUR B line of balls”, per TWLEGION. This contract extension is a significant coup for Bridgestone Golf, as it ensures that one of the most recognizable and revered figures in golf will remain a key ambassador for the brand. With this new contract in place, Woods will be looking to capitalize on the momentum and make a renewed push for his success in the golfing world as this partnership was a long-standing one, with Woods first signing with Bridgestone back in 2016.

In fact, Woods has revealed that he’s been playing Bridgestone-made balls since his memorable 2000 season, even when they were branded as Nike golf balls. “I have played a ball manufactured by Bridgestone since my memorable 2000 season,” Woods said in a press release. “Since the beginning, Bridgestone has continued to innovate and lead the golf ball category in terms of technology, performance, and consistency. They are great at what they do, and I look forward to continuing to work with their R&D team to design industry-leading golf balls.” Woods has had great success with Bridgestone balls, including winning the 2019 Masters with the Tour B XS ball. He’s since switched to the Tour B X ball, which he says gives him an extra 10 yards of carry off the tee.

Amid all the excitement, the memory is still fresh for many about how former LPGA pro Lexi Thompson recently announced that she is breaking off her longtime partnership with Bridgestone. Tiger Woods isn’t the only big name sticking with Bridgestone as several other top players have also signed contract extensions with the golf giant.

Matt Kuchar and Chris Gotterup resign their contracts with Bridgestone

PGA TOUR winners Matt Kuchar and Chris Gotterup have re-signed with Bridgestone, joining PGA TOUR Champions players Fred Couples and Boo Weekley in extending their partnerships with the golf giant. Each of these players will continue to play a TOUR B golf ball, with Gotterup also using Bridgestone’s forged 221 CB irons. This is a big deal for Bridgestone, as it shows that the company’s products are trusted by some of the best golfers in the world. It’s clear that these players love using Bridgestone’s gear, and the company is happy to have them on board.

But Bridgestone isn’t just happy with its current team,  it’s also looking to add some new talent to the mix. Recently, the company signed PGA TOUR winners Kurt Kitayama and Harry Hall, as well as Takumi Kanaya, who is joining the PGA TOUR as a rookie for the 2025 season. Hall, who won the ISCO Championship in 2024, is really excited to be working with Bridgestone. “I tried out the new ball in tournament conditions, and I was blown away by the results,” he said. “The ball flies far, and it’s really consistent in the wind. I’m looking forward to seeing what I can do with it!” With these new signings, Bridgestone is setting itself up for even more success in the golf world.
