Young African man who sold sachet water to sponsor education finally achieves dream of becoming a Nurse

A determined young Ghanaian man named  Qwasi Sunday has defied all odds to pursue his dream of becoming a nurse, despite facing financial struggles which almost made him drop out of school.

Sunday, a student at the Seventh Day Adventist Nurses Training College, Kumasi, had to sell sachet water in traffic and work as a waiter to fund his education.

Sunday’s dream of becoming a healthcare professional seemed impossible due to his inability to afford school fees. For years, he balanced multiple jobs to save up money for his tuition.

Determined not to give up, he took to hawking sachet water in the streets and later found work as a restaurant waiter. Though it was exhausting, his passion for nursing kept him motivated.

In a TikTok video, Sunday shared his journey, explaining how he remained focused on his goal despite the hardships. ””First, it was fragrance, then it turned to fire, my worship is my weapon, this is how I win my battle,” he said.

Now in his penultimate year at Seventh Day Adventist Nurses Training College, Sunday is closer than ever to fulfilling his ambition of becoming a nurse. Beyond nursing, he also dreams of building a career in modeling,

He did many menial jobs in order to survive through school. Cyprian said he was involved with jobs like packing sand in bags and selling it, palm oil processing, and writing assignments for people in school which he used to pay his house rent.
