‘Legs not in good shape’ – Golf legend expresses serious Tiger Woods concern ahead of The Masters

Golf’s most prestigious event is a month away.

And Tiger Woods’ status is still up in the air.

Woods and The Masters are as synonymous as peanut butter and jelly.

The five-time winner of the sport’s most hallowed tournament has yet to commit to Augusta.

Woods has not played an official event so far this year, only appearing in his new found TGL.

He has also had to deal with the death of his mother, Kultida Woods, who passed away on February 4.

“This is the third time I’ve touched a club since my mom passed, so I haven’t really gotten into it,” Woods said last week at a TGL match.

“My heart is not into practising right now.

“I have so many other things to do with the tour. Once I start probably feeling a little bit better and start getting into it, I’ll start looking at the schedule.”

His schedule at this point remains unknown, as his TGL team, Jupiter Links GC, did not qualify for the TGL playoffs, so even that is over.

He is not currently in the field for The Players Championship this weekend either.

People are worried about the 15-time major winner.

One of those being legendary golfer Gary Player.

“I’m such an admirer of Tiger Woods,” Player told SportsBoom.com.

“You know, he did what he did for golf around the world is remarkable. The same as Arnold Palmer and Jack Nicklaus and a host of players.”

“But you know, Tiger Woods’ legs, your legs are what carry you around. Your legs are what hit the ball, not your hands,” he added.

“And his legs are not in good shape.

“And The Masters, what people don’t understand, look at that tournament. It’s uphill and it’s downhill and it’s sidehill. And that is tough, tough on the legs.

“I don’t know if he can walk around there. We hope he’ll play.

“Everybody wants to see him play.”

The three-time Masters winner and nine-time major winner is right.

The whole world wants to see Woods take the course at Augusta.

Those are his hunting grounds.

Or at least they were.
