Another notable figure was Paul Edington, who played Jerry Leadbetter. His character provided a comedic contrast to the unconventional lifestyle of Tom and Barbara Good. Edington passed away on November 4, 1995, at 68, after battling skin cancer.

Richard Briers, 𝐛𝐨𝐫𝐧 January 14, 1934, in Merton, became synonymous with the role of Tom Good, a middle-class man seeking a self-sufficient life. His optimism and determination resonated with many until he passed away on February 17, 2013, at 79, due to empyema.
