Carlos Moyá and his wife Carolina Cerezuela, who share a close friendship with Nadal, gave some insights into the new role of the tennis star.
ast Thursday night was a special occasion for Rafa Nadal. The legendary tennis player celebrated his 20th anniversary with KIA in Madrid, surrounded by friends, including Carolina Cerezuela and Carlos Moyá, who coached him from 2018 until his retirement last October.
There, HOLA! Spain caught up with the actress and her husband and chatted about their marriage and their daughter’s budding acting career, but first, they discussed Nadal’s iconic career and an update about their friend’s new chapter in life.

“He seems content, happy, and calm. Rafa is embracing this new phase in his life, and he’s doing really well,” Carlos shared, as he found it very easy to describe his friend and former tennis colleague.

“It’s difficult. No words can truly describe him. Having known him since he was a 𝘤𝘩𝘪𝘭𝘥, when he was just 11 years old, and witnessing his evolution is incredible,” added Moyá to the press at the event.
“I value the person more than the athlete. Obviously, the athlete is great, but the person… He’s a normal human being, so humble. Despite all his achievements, he remains true to his principles,” continued Carolina’s husband.

“We all were a bit worried about how Rafa would handle his retirement, being such a competitor, but he’s managing it very well,” he admitted.
