A brilliant Nigerian man namaed Oluwabunmi Victor, has made history at Ekiti State University (EKSU) by graduating with a first-class degree in Actuarial Science, earning the highest cumulative grade point average (CGPA) ever recorded in the history of his department.
Not only did he emerge as the Best Graduating Student in the Department of Actuarial Science, he was also named the Best Graduating Student in the entire Faculty of Management Sciences for the 2023/2024 academic year.
Remarkably, he achieved this feat while juggling several responsibilities. At the same time he was preparing for and writing his Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN) examinations.
Oluwabunmi served as the President of his fellowship, the Vice President of the Tax Club, and a committed executive member in various other organizations within the university community.
Reflecting on his journey, Oluwabunmi acknowledged that his success did not come without sacrifices, but he remained committed and focused throughout.
He credited his achievement to divine support, hard work, and the encouragement of those around him. ”God is indeed a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him,” he said.
In another story, a brilliant Nigerian lady named Zainab Aderinale has made history in the Department of Employment Relations and Human Resources Management at the University of Lagos (UNILAG), Nigeria.
She graduated with a first-class degree in Industrial Relations and Personnel Management, achieving an outstanding 4.85/5.00 cumulative grade point average—the highest CGPA ever recorded in the department’s history.
Zainab’s exceptional performance earned her notable awards, including the Best Graduating Student in the Department of Employment Relations and Human Resources Management award and the Prof. Tayo Fashoyin Prize for the Best Final Year Undergraduate Student in the field.
