A woman was named November June by her parents — despite not being 𝐛𝐨𝐫𝐧 in either month.
When November June Brown was 𝐛𝐨𝐫𝐧 her mom, April, 54, decided to carry on the family tradition of being named after months of the year.
November isn’t the only one in her family named after a month of the year; her grandma is called June, her mom is called April, and her sister is called Hayley December.
Despite being named after the months of the year, none of them are 𝐛𝐨𝐫𝐧 in the month they are named after.
April is 𝐛𝐨𝐫𝐧 in January, June arrived in April, Hayley December’s 𝐛𝐢𝐫𝐭𝐡day is in November and November was 𝐛𝐨𝐫𝐧 in August.

November said her unique name has led to some funny situations where people think her ID is fake or don’t believe her.
She says it doesn’t bother her that people don’t believe her name and it’s always a cool “party trick” proving people wrong.
November, a writer and content creator, from Madison, Wisconsin, said: “My mom thought the name was pretty and wanted to carry on the unique tradition started by my grandma.

“It took some convincing from my dad.
“There are only 12 months in a year, so you will need to get to the unique ones eventually.
“My sister and I love our unique names — nobody ever misspells it or mispronounces it as it is a month of the year.
“Sometimes people will think that my ID is fake when I go to the bar, it is always fun to prove people wrong in that way.”

When November’s mom fell pregnant with her, there was no doubt in her mind that she wasn’t going to carry on with the tradition of naming family members after the months of the year.
November’s dad, however, needed some convincing as he was worried his daughters would get bullied.
November said: “My mom’s name is April, and her mom’s name is June, so when my mom was getting ready to have kids, she wanted to carry the tradition on.
“My dad was worried that my sister and I would get bullied for our names, so it took quite a lot of convincing to get him on board.”

Growing up, November said she was never bullied for her name, but would be teased for it at school.
She says her peers would sing happy 𝐛𝐢𝐫𝐭𝐡day to her on Nov. 1, and she would often have chants made up about her.
November said: “We would get teased for our names, but they were mostly jokes.
“I got wished happy 𝐛𝐢𝐫𝐭𝐡day when it was November 1st — despite me being 𝐛𝐨𝐫𝐧 in August.

“I do a lot of work with writers, so people think November June Brown is my pen name, and it sounds fake.
“When I introduce myself at a party, people will say ‘no way is that your name’ so a fun party trick is to pull out your ID and show them.”
Despite not having kids of her own yet, November said she would love to carry on the tradition, but admitted her boyfriend would need a lot of convincing.
She said: “I would love to name my kids after months as well, I think November is a pretty name for a girl, and October is great for a boy.
“It would be fun to carry the tradition on, what a cool thing to do. It is going to take some convincing with my partner, put it that way.”
