A mother who learned she was expecting triplets barely four months after giving 𝐛𝐢𝐫𝐭𝐡 to her “𝑏𝑎𝑏𝑦” has compared parenthood to “running on a conveyer belt occasionally.” Before the 𝐛𝐢𝐫𝐭𝐡 of their “only” son Phoenix last year, Vickie and Jamie O’Donnell from Abercynon claimed to have been together for years. But with a little assistance, the couple eventually received the wonderful news that “𝑏𝑎𝑏𝑦” Phoenix, who was 𝐛𝐨𝐫𝐧 last year, was on the way. The couple was shocked to learn that they had fallen pregnant again, this time with triplets, a few months later.
Rhubie, Violet, and Tarney They had four 𝘤𝘩𝘪𝘭𝘥ren under the age of one for just over a month until Ann arrived in June of this year. Vickie, a mother, said she loves her new parenting life and wouldn’t trade it for the world, despite the fact that it sometimes feels “like a conveyer belt.” People’s cheeks light up when they see us approaching them with the pram and think, “Look, it’s twins,” Vickie remarked. Suddenly they notice the third infant and exclaim, “Oh my G! It’s triplets!” How many diapers we go through, I have no idea. We typically have three boxes in use at any given time because the babies are all different sizes. Yet, I genuinely adore it and wouldn’t have it any other way.
Vickie, from Abercynon, recalled how she reacted when she learned she was having triplets: “I was screaming. When the woman first said they were twins, I suggested that she take another look since, if they are twins, who is the other one? And I couldn’t stop crying. The triplets, who are now three months old, were 𝐛𝐨𝐫𝐧 seven weeks early as a result of ts. The hardest aspect, in his opinion, is when all four of them want something at once, he said. Hence, it will be difficult if Phoenix wants his food and the three babies are u-s-tt and want something. And I hate hearing kids cry because it gets me worked up. Although it can be difficult, I am never alone. My mother is either always with me or, if she has left the house, is never far away. My mother and father are our super heroes, and they live with us.
Phoenix, fortunately for the family, enjoys sleeping. He frequently goes to bed at 7 p.m. and doesn’t wake up until 8 a.m. As the triplets settle and awaken at various times, this provides the parental team a good night to devote to them. Phoenix always gets ready for bed first throughout their nightly routine.
It’s time to move on to the triplets after he’s been bathed and put to bed. It all depends on who is the most eager to get started, Vickie continued. “I start with one, get them in the bath, then pass them off to my Mam, Dad, or Jamie who will all be home from work by then so they can dress them and get them into bed, then I go onto the next, then the next.”
The babies fall asleep quickly after being placed in their cot, which they can still share, and sleep for the majority of the night until waking up at various intervals in the morning. Violet went to bed at 8 p.m. and woke up at 4 a.m. for a, followed by Rhubie-Ann at 5 a.m. and Tarney at 7 a.m. Before Phoenix wakes up and we have to start the day, there are occasions when I can’t fall asleep again after their night. Without my mother, who frequently has one 𝑏𝑎𝑏𝑦 while I frequently have two, I’m not sure what I would do. Being a twin myself, I can better understand how she must have felt.
Another difficulty the family faces is transporting all four of them, and Vickie acknowledged it takes her a long time to load everyone into the car. “We have a seven-seater, so Phoenix is in the back, the triplets are in the center, and Jamie and I are in the front,” Vickie continued. Phoenix’s stroller fits in the footwell after we fold down the rear seat to make room for the triplets’ stroller.
There is no room for anything extra, so we will have to get a roof box or something. Vickie claimed that having four kids for the past three months has been a joy. “Just having them all is the best thing,” she remarked. I simply adore them so much that there is nothing I would alter.
