“He was going to be as Parisian as he could be while cheering on USA,” Kylie told PEOPLE in a recent interview
Kylie Kelce is spilling the details on what went behind her husband Jason Kelce’s très chic — and viral — 2024 Paris Olympics style moment.
For anyone paying attention to the stars in the stands, they would’ve immediately clocked the retired Philadelphia Eagles center, 36, decked out in Team USA gear and a navy wool beret.
While speaking with PEOPLE about her Dove partnership, Kylie also revealed that Jason was “fully committed” to nailing French fashion. “Oh no. He warned me ahead of time, on our way there. He said, ‘I’m going to get a beret’ and I said, ‘Great.’”

Jason had a vision and planned to live it out. He went into multiple “legitimate” stores in search of the accessory, but had no luck — until Kylie nudged him to go to a touristy gift shop.
“That is exactly where we went, right near the Arc de Triomphe. We went into a little souvenir shop and of course, they had like an entire wall of berets. He was very pleased to get one. He told me that he was not taking it off the whole time,” she says. “He was fully committed. He was going to be as Parisian as he could be while cheering on [Team] USA.”
He even continued to wear the look back in the States, where he made his ESPN debut on NFL Countdown on Aug. 1. (At this point, the hat was fully covered in an array of pins he traded with Olympic athletes.)
“I’m still on Paris time, so I [felt] I’d go with the Paris headdress,” he said on a panel ahead of the 2024 Pro Football Hall of Fame Game between the Houston Texans and Chicago Bears.

Jason’s debut comes after he announced his leaving the Eagles after 13 seasons in March. When the news of his retirement was originally announced during an emotional press conference, Kylie was there to support the football star along with the rest of the Kelces — including parents Donna and Ed and brother Travis.
Today, she can’t wait to see her partner reach new heights (see what we did there) in his career.
“I am mostly excited to see Jason excel in a new position,” Kylie told PEOPLE. “I jokingly say it’s a pain in the butt that he’s good at everything, and I know I’m biased in that, but I truly believe he’s good at everything because even if he’s not good at the start or the best at the start. He will work, endlessly and tirelessly until he can achieve that. So, I have full faith that he’s going to tackle his new position and excel.”
