Photos of twin babies are always popular on the internet, but in the case of sisters Isabella and Gabriela, seven months old, there is a detail that makes them even more popular. It’s just that girls are 𝐛𝐨𝐫𝐧 with different skin color. The peculiarity has earned thousands of fans on the Instagram page created by her mother, Clementina Shipley.
But how could two twin sisters be 𝐛𝐨𝐫𝐧 with such different skin tones? What happened to the girls is that they were generated in the same pregnancy, but with two eggs from the mother being fertilized by sperm from the father. They are then called dizygotic or fraternal twins. In these cases, despite the coincident gestation, they may indeed be different.
Clementina, decided to create an Instagram account to show the world the beauty of her little ones and also of her eldest daughter. The profile now has 13,000 followers and countless likes for each photo.
But despite so much cuteness, Clementina told in an interview with the North American magazine Essence , that there are people who make nasty comments, mainly in relation to Gabriela, who has darker skin. “Occasionally we counter negative comments about Gabriella’s color, as they question whether she is loved and considered beautiful because of her dark skin,” she says.
Clementina is proud of the genetics that gave her such beautiful daughters: “This African and American ‘mixture’ shows how incredible genes are”, she comments. She also says that the girls’ gray eyes are an inheritance and that two or three generations of 𝘤𝘩𝘪𝘭𝘥ren in the family have this characteristic.
