Halima Cissé and her husband, Abdelkader Arby, recently celebrated the first 𝐛𝐢𝐫𝐭𝐡day of their nine 𝘤𝘩𝘪𝘭𝘥ren, five girls and four boys, who were also inscribed into the Guinness Book of World Records on May 4, 2021. The infants were 𝐛𝐨𝐫𝐧 during the 30th week of pregnancy, and their father reports that they are in excellent health despite still being under hospital observation.
Fatouma, Adama, Kadidia, Hawa, and Oumou, as well as their brothers Oumar, Bah, Mohammed VI, and Elhadji, feel wonderful and continue to grow and become more powerful each day. Doctors initially believed she would have seven 𝘤𝘩𝘪𝘭𝘥ren, but after she was admitted to the Ain Borja Clinic for specialized care, two more were discovered. A specialist at the hospital, Dr. Youssef Alaoui, stated, “Fortunately, we have one of the largest neonatal resuscitation services in Morocco, so this did not deter us.” Our team was prepared to receive the 𝘤𝘩𝘪𝘭𝘥ren, and we were able to manage them with the utmost care.”
On their first 𝐛𝐢𝐫𝐭𝐡day, the clan of five girls and four boys were joined by older sister Souda, age three, a complement of industrious nurses, and an abundance of cake and candles to be blown out. Girls Adama, Oumou, Hawa, Kadidia, and Fatouma donned 𝑏𝑎𝑏𝑦 gowns and tiaras, while males Oumar, Elhadji, Bah, and Mohammed VI wore 𝑏𝑎𝑏𝑦 tuxedos. Abdelkader, a seaman in the Malian Navy, remained in Mali to care for the couple’s three-year-old daughter, Souda, during her 𝐛𝐢𝐫𝐭𝐡. When he was reunited with his family in October 2021, he stated, “They are all getting along splendidly and are a delight to care for. Their favorite cartoon is Baby Shark, which is frequently the most effective means to retain the piece in their minds.”
A year ago, they were delivered by a team of ten physicians, 25 paramedics, and 18 nurses during a difficult labor, weighing between 1 pound and 2 pounds, and weighing between 1 and 2 pounds. Arby discussed the challenges of caring for so many infants, noting that even caring for one infant can be challenging. He explained that each has a distinct personality, with some requiring more attention, others requiring more physical contact, and others being more readily agitated. He added, “There is nothing better than the first year.” We will recollect the wonderful times we are experiencing.”
The Guinness Book of Records states, “Nine 𝘤𝘩𝘪𝘭𝘥ren are extremely, and until the 𝐛𝐢𝐫𝐭𝐡 of Cissé’s 𝘤𝘩𝘪𝘭𝘥ren, no case was recorded in which all nine babies su for more than a few hours.” The infants’ development will continue to be monitored in the hospital, and the family will be prepared to commemorate each of the 𝘤𝘩𝘪𝘭𝘥ren’s milestones.
